Davosa is reviving the spirit of the 1960s with the Sixties edition of its popular Ternos diver's watch. In this edition, the Swiss manufacturer of high-quality mechanical watches focuses not only on materials and design, but also on how the watch fits comfortably on the wrist, in an attempt to revive the carefree decade during which freedom in lifestyle and fashion became so important.

The case of Ternos Sixties watch is made entirely of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. It has a lens shape and fits well on the wrist: The screw-down back is a few millimeters larger and houses the robust Swiss automatic movement DAV 3021. The dial is protected by a domed crystal, a typical feature of 1960s watch design. The single-turn aluminum bezel underlines the vintage look and is available in blue, black or burgundy.

Today’s high-quality metal watch straps are typically made up of individually screwed links, with the screws recessed into each link, making them almost invisible. However, in the last century, functional watches often featured visible rivets, easily recognizable by the raised profiles along the outer edge of the links. DAVOSA has given the Ternos Sixties a metal strap that revives this classic look. In keeping with the times, however, the rivets on the lower links are still screwed in to allow for easy adjustment of the watch strap.

With a case diameter of just 40mm, Ternos Sixties watch adheres to the more modest case dimensions of previous decades. It boasts a slim height of 12mm, despite its domed crystal and diving bezel. This is achieved thanks to the ingenious construction of the case head, which weighs just 58g including movement and dial. The metal strap adds just 68g, as the 3mm thick links taper from 20mm to 16mm, another nod to the prevailing fashion of the 70s.
