The first striking new feature of the DAVOSA Apnea Diver Automatic is the multi-coloured ring around the dial. The French national colours appeared on it by chance. The blue, white and red colours replicate the internationally recognised breathing exercise in freediving: During the five-second blue phase, the breath is taken in, held for 15 seconds (white area) and then the air is exhaled for 10 seconds (red area). With this colour code, the freediver can fully concentrate on this important breathing exercise without having to count or use a stopwatch.

During these breathing exercises, the watch must be held upright - preferably without the need for an improvised support. The DAVOSA Apnea Diver Automatic offers the perfect solution, making it a waterproof professional freediving device. By unscrewing the crown at 3 o'clock, the middle part of the slightly curved 42 mm stainless steel case can be removed. Thanks to the hinged ring attached to the middle part, the diver can now safely stand up the rest of the watch case while performing breathing exercises.
