The Chinkin collection consists of fountain pens that use "Chinkin (gold inlay)", one of the lacquering techniques that Japan has introduced to the world on a par with Maki-e. Motifs are carved into the lacquered surface with special chisels, and after the lacquer is inserted into the grooves, the placement of gold leaf and gold powder gives the pattern expression.
The delicate depiction and three-dimensional aspect brimming with power in its details are the hallmarks of this collection.
Since Chinkin is a carving technique, there is no room for error. Each carver is a real challenge in the truest sense of the word.
