Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Robert Louis Stevenson Limited Edition Ballpoint Pen

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1850, Robert Louis Stevenson had two great desires: freedom and the distraction of immersing himself in another world. He composed essays and travelogues, as well as his legendary adventure stories full of remarkable characters whose names send shivers down the spines of readers all over the world: Long John Silver, Captain Flint, Jekyll and Hyde. Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Robert Louis Stevenson is dedicated to this imaginative storyteller. The novel “Treasure Island” inspired many of the design details of the edition. The overall shape of the writing instrument and the rings on the cone create the impression of a historic, telescopic telescope. The black barrel made of precious resin is decorated with engraved crosses, including a larger “X” like the one that marks the location of the treasure on a map. The lid of the Writers Edition is decorated with vertical lines that recall the planks of the “Hispaniola” and a traditional sea chest. Behind the platinum-plated clasp, the lines converge into a compass rose, while the clasp imitates the shape of a safety pin to which the lines of a ship’s rigging would be attached. The top is crowned with Montblanc emblem with the pirate symbol, a skull and crossbones, raised in the center. The ring is decorated with an engraving of Stevenson’s signature along with the publication date of his first work, “The Pentland Rising,” 1866. The years of Robert Louis Stevenson’s life, 1850–1894, are engraved on the lid.
