In 2022, Montblanc pays tribute to one of the most famous musicians of the 20th century, widely considered one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music: Jimi Hendrix. The body of this limited edition from 1942, inspired by the cover of the 1968 album “Electric Ladyland”, has a degraded lacquer that holds a skeleton overlay. The surface of the cap symbolizes the material of the amplifier used by Hendrix and holds a lacquered badge. The clip, with a yellow-gold finish, is angled to resemble the vibrato bar of an electric guitar. The Montblanc emblem at the top of the cap is made of precious resin. Another striking detail is the yellow-gold-plated ring on the head, which draws inspiration from a guitar cable from the 1960s - it is engraved with the date of Jimi Hendrix’s famous concert. The handmade nib made of solid Au 750 gold features a portrait of Jimi Hendrix.
