The spectacular new look Louis Moinet Derrick once again revolutionizes the world of oil and watchmaking, with the movement’s openworked mechanical parts further enhancing the technology involved in its exceptional mechanism. The piece boasts a skeleton movement, haute horlogerie finishes, a three-day power reserve and a brand new seconds display.

This technical assembly of over 45 parts is topped by a six-screw bezel, one of Louis Moinet's stylistic hallmarks.

The Black Gold Derrick comes in a strictly limited edition of 28 pieces.

The original spirit of the DERRICK TOURBILLON, shining with the world of oil, remains intact. The entire movement of the watch represents the drilling process. The drive shaft is located on the right side of the dial between 2 and 4 o'clock. This drives a long articulated arm, known as the walking beam, between 10 and 2 o'clock. At its left end is an elongated "head", the most distinctive visual characteristic of a tower crane.

The circuit naturally ends with the barrel at 9 o’clock, made of titanium and symbolizing successful mining. This too is constantly rotating: Louis Moinet dedicated it to marking the seconds, read off at the bottom of the barrel, on a red-engraved seconds track. The rotating cylinder is also engraved with Louis Moinet’s name atop the iconic fleur-de-lis motif.
