  • S.T. Dupont Atelier was created in 1953 in our factory Faverges. Real place of establishment of special and exceptional orders, it contains all the secrets of our valuable products and illustrates perfectly the expertise of craftsmanship and lacquer.  Real gold bar with brushed finish, this unique lighter is a blend of simplicity and sophistication with a powerful and unique crystalline, sign of recognition among the insiders. For the Atelier collection, the original script of ST Dupont logo is subtly engraved on the banner at the front of the lighter. The date 1953 and the symbol of the winged wheel are finely engraved on the product and evoke the creation date of the workshop and the unique expertise of the house materials.

Birth of a Pen As Jean Cocteau once said, “Writing is an act of love.” Since 1973, once held, the S.T.Dupont pen is never forgotten. It is shaped with the act of writing; we make this accessory personal, the extension of ourselves. The creation of a single pen fashioned from metal is like “haute-couture”: it entails no less than 150 operations and 200 quality control tests. This attention to detail extends from the cap to the rhodium-plated, 18 carat gold nib. Each nib is hand-crafted, hand-polished and tested by our experts who hold the secret of the perfect pen. An S.T.Dupont pen is first and foremost a work of goldsmithing excellence, with many of the procedures requiring almost surgical precision, e.g., guilloche, chasing and engraving techniques. Brass sections are shaped into numerous decorative forms whose finesse and brilliance ensure their uniqueness. Precious material work and application of Chinese lacquer are both signature features of S.T.Dupont pens. Elegant design and precious materials are the symbol of each S.T.Dupont writing instrument.
Simon Tissot-Dupont, the dynasty's founder, was just 25. He was born in Savoy to a family of millers. He was an enterprising and passionate young man who was determined to succeed in Paris. He recruited several talented craftsmen and established a prestigious leather goods workshop. In particular, he manufactured wallets and "maroquins", the attaché-cases of the time, bearing the initials of senior civil servants. He was rapidly successful among Parisian high society. Soon, he became the official supplier to the Magasins du Louvre, which was a reference in the world for luxury accessories at the time.
