In 2021, 100 years will have passed since the introduction of the iconic Parker Duofold pen, and to celebrate this milestone, Parker is releasing the annual special edition Parker Duofold 100th. The limited edition is a celebration of elegance, the extraordinary craftsmanship of the Parker brand and the pioneering spirit of the brand's founder George S. Parker. Duofold is celebrating 100 years of accomplishing unreal things - such as the famous experiment of falling from a plane from a height of 915 meters, which was to confirm its indestructibility. Duofold also has many famous users and has been to many historical events. Sir Arthur C. Doyle wrote books with him about Sherlock Holmes, and Boris Yeltsin and George Bush signed an agreement with the Duofold in 1992 to reduce START II's strategic weapons. The Parker Duofold 100th is an annual special edition that represents more than 130 years of Parker's innovative and craft skills and is unique in its design.
The elegant gift set contains 3 fountain pens, led by the cult Big Red variant, which was launched in 1921 and immediately aroused worldwide consumer interest. The original and distinctive color suppressed the stereotype of the previously preferred black pens. To this day, the Big Red remains the symbolic and best-known version of the Duofold model line. "Big Red" paved the way for other bold colors that Duofold is famous for.
The second fountain pen in the set is technically not a Duofold, but a Black No. 26. In 1921, the inscription "Duofold" was printed on the pen and this black version subsequently remained in the range permanently.
The last, but not inconspicuous, fountain pen in the set is Lapis Lazuli in an intense blue color, which refers to the dark blue gem of the same name. To simulate the look of the gemstone, small blue and white spots have been added to give the pen extra depth and shine. Lapis is the Latin word for stone and Lazuli is derived from the Arabic word "Azul", which indicates blue.
In this elegant gift set, you will find everything that the "stormy and wild" 20s meant: untied pop culture as well as lifestyle and a departure from traditions. The fountain pen is made in Nantes, France, from 22 hand-assembled components, and each piece of the fountain pen is individually numbered. In total, only 100 of these three-piece collector sets were produced.
The larger fountain pen, body and cap made of several thin layers of diffusely bonded rare resin create striking colored stripes. Grip made of glossy black resin. The top of lid made of gold leaf with engraving of the 100th anniversary. The rings on the lid, typical of Duofold, are made of gold leaf. Iconic clip in the shape of an arrow plated with gold. Tip made of 18-carat gold (fineness Au 750/1000) with a decorative engraving of a card ace and the centenary, partially plated with rhodium. Luxury wooden box with a glossy black surface, interior lined with black suede, dimensions 210 x 140 x 63 mm. Including a limited edition brochure with a certificate of authenticity signed by Geoffrey S. Parker, great-grandson of the brand's founder.
